Executive Summary
Ruggedized tablets are mobile computing devices that are able to withstand various environmental and hazardous conditions and rough handling, making them suitable for use by law enforcement in field operations. In August 2013, the System Assessment and Validation for Emergency Responders (SAVER) Program conducted an operationally oriented assessment of ruggedized tablets running the Microsoft® Windows® 8 operating system.
