Alaska Regional Center

Mission
Located in the country’s largest state in terms of land area, Alaska’s criminal justice agencies serve nearly 700,000 residents and cover 586,412 square miles. Public safety professionals in Alaska face unique challenges to crime prevention, investigation and rehabilitation efforts. In order to provide these widely scattered, remotely located agencies with complete access to the services of the National Law Enforcement and Corrections Technology Center (NLECTC) System, the National Institute of Justice (NIJ) provides the Alaska Regional Center to serve as a conduit for agencies in Alaska.
