The Rural Law Enforcement Technology Center (RULETC) provides technology and technical solutions to the Nation's rural and small criminal justice agencies. RULETC concentrates on information technology, communications interoperability, and training and simulation technologies that will improve the effectiveness and efficiency of rural law enforcement. RULETC provides technology assistance via a nationwide network of criminal justice subject-matter experts, engineers, academia, and scientists. The center is developing capacity-building programs for dissemination nationwide that will provide rural agencies with the information they need to better equip officers to serve their communities. Hosted by The Center for Rural Development, RULETC is located in Hazard, Kentucky.

Mission

Our mission is to provide responsive solutions and practical benefits to rural law enforcement by providing a one-stop-shop technology and technical assistance program. The Center was created and is commissioned by the National Institute of Justice Office of Science and Technology to act as an honest broker, by providing technology leadership, information, and assistance that benefits our nations rural law enforcement agencies.

Vision Statement

Our vision is to implement a nation-wide technology program that enhances the technological capabilities and resources of rural law enforcement. We envision providing rural law enforcement the information, tools, resources, and technologies that improves their capacity to protect and serve their communities.

Solution Center

The Solution Center serves as the gateway for rural law enforcement agencies to obtain technology information, assistance, request on-site support, and capacity-building tools for their agencies.
