Community Corrections Community corrections is a general term used to refer to a variety of correctional programs which all include two major goals: reducing reliance on incarceration as punishment of offenders and linking the offender with human service providers in the community that can offer the treatment and skills development needed to lead a law abiding life. These goals are accomplished through alternative to incarceration programs such as probation, parole, work release, house arrest, halfway houses, community service and parole.
